Young Kim
I always want to be a painter since I was kid but not had a chance to learn about painting except some school art classes. After roller coaster of life, from Dec 2022, finally, I was able to be back to painting. I have loved John Singer Sargent at first (and still I love his works) and tried to paint people with traditional oil painting as learning, but soon after, I discovered Egon Schelle, who is exceptional in drawing depicting human nature with distorted lines. Then I came to be obsessed with lines and shape which conveys meanings of life from different perspective. My painting for this exhibition is a log of my journey. I focused to use black paint to focus on the lines and shape and its meaning.
