Last chance to see this show tonight 27th January @ 6pm
A solo show by an emerging artist who happens to be my son: however his last show in 2012 sold out and his style has developed and he has worked on what has worked for him evolving into PIECES of PIECES. a story in every piece of the journey of life; icons, struggles and achievements.. a must see show. keep watching for what is coming... he will be joined by some Austin artists: Austin Found Co. "Pieces is Pieces" is my Second solo show featuring work from 2016 with an exception of two pieces dating back to 2011. I have been working day in and and day out on this body of work since January. In saying that, this year has had some highs and lows, mostly highs! You can see this in the details of the series! I would love to invite you come see this exhibit, there will be music, refreshments, and of course art!" Asher begun his public career as an artist after submitting a piece of artwork into Billabong’s “Design for Humanity”, a nationwide art competition and succeeded in second place. After this experience he began developing a style feeding from the art work of Jean-Michel Basquiat. His artwork became more freeform: using iconic features of his life. Asher’s artwork has been his story: painting and selling his work with commissions as a teenager. Asher’s work is in many private collections in the Dallas area where in 2012 he achieved a sold out solo show. Since this time he has traveled to Australia and moved to Austin, where his street art took on a different level: painting on several occasions for SprATX on a large scale at SXSW, FFF, HOPE outdoor gallery, HOPS FOR HOPE, and working on different small series.Asher has been influenced as he puts it: “surrounded by creative minds my whole life, from music to art to skateboarding, its all been a huge influence." - 2009 “most of my inspiration comes from all of you, the way you influence me is unknown to you but well known to me.” - 2012 “Life is built up of moments, each one leads to another, and another and so on, these moments layer, and shape who we are! Some moments are a struggle, some blissful. but they happen, and they matter, this is what Pieces of Pieces represents.” - 2016 Pieces of Pieces is a tedious body of work that has evolved through the development and style that Asher has produced through the emerging years as an artist. Please share, invite whoever, and be prepared to see A LOT of squares! Thank you!
