When I produce a black and white photograph I don’t go for a simple accurate image. I like to use the contrast to pull out details of the subject; things that would be overlooked in a color shot. You can emphasize the textures that are sometimes missed in color photography. I do a lot of macro (close up) photography. It’s like exploring a hidden world where few have tread. My photographs for this exhibit show my view of the world, concentrating on the small segments, the unique aspects that aren’t readily obvious in the larger context of the world.
