Press Release: Frisco Gallery 8680 Art Exhibition, August 5, 2011

This item is co-written by Gallery’s Robyn Parker Feehan and Ron Sexton, guest columnist, Frisco Enterprise.

BEGIN

On the evening of August 5, 2011, Robyn Parker Feehan, founder and creative director of Frisco’s gallery8680 on Main Street, will host the Gallery's  7th showing since it opened June 2009.  In honor of Texas in August, Ms. Feehan calls this showing, “water.”

Opening festivities begin with a reception and hors d'oeuvres at 7:30 PM and meandering goes on until 9:30 PM. Additional daily showings are available through September 11th by appointment, Monday through Saturday from 11:30 AM -- 3:30 PM.  Thirty artists will display works that feature photographic images, oils and acrylics and most of them will be on hand to mix and mingle with patrons.

As a special tribute to art created in Madagascar, thegallery8680 will hang several works of  LiviniaHobbs, a London artist excelling in the use of pastels to capture the vibrant colors of Madagascar’s tropical setting. Although she will not be here in person, Ms. Hobbs has graciously made her paintings available to us for this showing.

thegallery8680 encourages the artist to reflect an  independent view of contemporary society in his or her own unique style. We represent both emerging and mid-career artists and special guests who delight in bringing original art to the public. Together we are committed to bringing you art that is fresh, that is intelligently presented and well executed.

thegallery8680 is attracting artists and lovers of art moved by feelings that go deep and who find themselves contemplating the visual arts to experience them.  We believe that it is innate human curiosity that bonds the artist and the connoisseur of art – curiosity to express feelings through art, curiosity to connect its peculiar meaning to self.

thegallery8680's overarching mission is to serve a broad and far-reaching audience and artists  being recognized locally as a vital and energetic cultural gathering place -- an indispensable educational resource for the community.

The Gallery is steadily positioning itself to deliver a robust one-of-a-kind visual art destination right here in Frisco,  and so we enthusiastically invite you to indulge your own natural curiosity in our latest venture at 8680 Main Street. We think you will be pleased with your experience.
