The Salon (French: Salon), or rarely Paris Salon (French: Salon de Paris[salɔ̃ də paʁi]), beginning in 1667 was the official art exhibition of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Between 1748 and 1890 it was arguably the greatest annual or biennial art event in the Western world. At the 1761 Salon thirty-three painters, nine sculptors, and eleven engravers contributed. As a way to celebrate thegallery8680 anniversary and our commitment to provide opportunities for artists and for the city habitants to enjoy art, we have created an annual national, regional juried show which will be an open call for artist residing from anywhere in the USA to submit their artworks for the opportunity to win a solo exhibit in thegallery8680 space for 2022.
This is a FREE submission call for which the Jurors will select between 20 and 25 artists to be showcased. You may submit up to three pieces of art to be considered for this show. Only one piece from each artist will be showcased..
