A VOYAGE THROUGH NOW "A voyage through now" is a series of works, where I explore the connection between past, present, and future. I paint my hometown memories, and I sought to contemplate the essence of those faces and locales that no longer occupy the present, but I aim to immortalize the individuals and landscapes that once shaped my daily existence. It's a visual chronicle that delves into the experiences that punctuated my journey as an immigrant. As if I live in two parallel worlds, that defines my experience. One rooted in my own background, with its unique culture, that connects to my inner thoughts, vulnerability, memories, and the people I've grown up with. These elements collectively shape my identity. Simultaneously, there's the world I entered, the tangible reality beyond my mind. Here, I encounter new people, cultures, and daily occurrences in my new home. Through my art, I bridge these two worlds in various ways. For instance, my paintings feature a window captured from various perspectives, and reflective surfaces. From the cozy corner of my view, the window opens a dialogue with the world, serves as a symbolic artistic expression, depicting the channel that connects my inner world to the world outside. Particularly, I aim to reflect that although I am in a personal solitary, I am intricately woven into the fabric of a much larger existence. The window is an invitation to the new world, to envision possibilities beyond the immediate horizon, creating a bridge through depiction of the moments that exist and change behind the window. It serves as a metaphorical connection between the familiar present and the unknown of future.
